Obituary for John F. Pollard
John F. Pollard, 43, of Westerly died Saturday at home. A resident
of Westerly for 10 years, he was the son of Alan Pollard of Cambridge
MA and the late Hinda (Greyser) Pollard. Besides his father, John
leaves is brother, Daniel Pollard of Arlington VA, his stepmother
Sarah Pollard, and his maternal uncle Stephen Greyser of Boston. A
graduate of Hartt School of Music and a brilliant electric guitarist,
John's nucleus was performing the music he believed in. From his
musical influences, such as Ritchie Blackmore and Duke Robillard, to
his longstanding role in the band Phantanima, his musical evolution
was far-reaching. He loved a good joke, a boiled lobster, and a Sam
Adams beer.
Services will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be
made to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.
