Providence: Jean M. Hall, a long time Providence resident died Wednesday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice in Providence. She was a daughter of the late Erik E.B. and Mary (Vargas) Hall.
Jean was a history teacher at Shea High School in Pawtucket for over 40 years. She was loved by many of her students. Jean was a wonderful advocate for her students and went to great lengths to see that her students fulfilled their potential. Jean was an avid reader and advocate for animals. She loved her cats, her home and her rose garden.
She leaves her cousin Leslie Quigley of Topsfield, MA and her lifelong friend Phebe G. Howland of Providence.
A Memorial service will be held Monday at 11:30 in the Historic Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow St. Providence, R.I. 02903. Condolences may be left at monahandrabblesherman.com.
