Obituary for Jane Carey
Carey, Jane, 82, of East Providence died Tuesday at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Langton) Carey, she has lived in East Providence since 1975.
Jane was a Religious Sister of Mercy and later taught as a professor of English and Psychology
She leaves her brother and sister in law Francis E. Carey and Ethel A. Carey of Bristol, her sisters: Nancy Perry of Sagamore, MA and Sr. Winifred Carey RSM of Cumberland. She also leaves Fedra, Cristina and Bryan Dawson who were like children to her, several nieces and nephews , God Children and cherished friends.
She was the sister of the late Rita Carey Masi, William J. Carey and Anita Carey and sister in law of the late Joseph Masi and Jeremiah Perry.,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10am in St Joseph Church, 92 Hope St., Providence. Calling hours Friday 4-7pm in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence, In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Joseph Church.
