James Walter Handren, 90
In North Smithfield, RI on July 16, 2013.  Husband of Audrey Handren.­ He is survived by sons Clifford J. Parker and his wife Annie of New Britain, CT, Glenn A. Parker and his wife Naomi of Providence, RI, Robert H. Parker and his wife Barbara of Lincoln, RI and Jeffrey G. Parker of Providence, RI, daughter Irene Handren of Providence, RI, brother William Handren of Harrison, ME, sister Marilyn Marshall of Georgetown, MA.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Elaine Bartlett and his wife Audrey.   Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  Born March 11, 1923 in Lynn, MA, the son of the late William Eugene, Sr. and Hazel Handren of Georgetown, MA.
Jim was a decorated World War Two veteran. He survived the war to graduate from Northeastern University with an engineering degree, and worked as a Purchasing Manager for 30 + years for Anelex Corporation and Advanced Manufacturing. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and skeet shooting. Residence: Mendon Road, North Smithfield, RI and formerly of Georgetown, MA.
A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday at Noon in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral home, 230 Waterman St., Providence. Calling hours in the funeral home Friday evening 5-8pm Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, Providence or St. Antoine’s Residence, North Smithfield, RI. 

Visitation Friday 5-8pm
