Irene O’Rourke, 85, of Providence, passed away November 3rd. She was the wife of the late Michael O’Rourke and was previously married to the late Louis Fragola, Jr. Born in the Bronx, she lived many places before settling in RI in 1970.
Irene was a gifted conversationalist and a lover of human rights. She worked in the helping profession and her goal was to connect with people. She loved the color purple and elephants.
She was mother to Bob (Kathy), Dean (Dorrian) and Christina (Kristen) Fragola, and Karen (Joe) Mullen, and step children Edward, Brian and Maryelle O’Rourke and the late Catherine and Michael O’Rourke, and many beloved grandchildren. She was the sole survivor of 5 siblings (Francis, Kathleen, Robert, Peggy, & Billy Connolly).
