Obituary for Gloria F. Barnes
Gloria F. Barnes, 95, died Wednesday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late John J. Barnes, Sr.
Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Emil and Florida (Boyer) Keenzel, she was a Rumford resident for 56 years.
Gloria was a machine operator for Nyman Manufacturing in Rumford retiring in 1988. She served in the Woman’s Army Corp in World War II and was an active member of St. Margaret’s Parish for many years.
She leaves a son Dennis Barnes and his wife Susan of Bristol, 4 daughters: Carol Barnes of San Antonio, TX, Gloria Lohwasser and her husband Charlie of Lakewood Ranch, FL., Mary Wheeler and her husband Ted of Rumford and Ann Toole and her husband Barry of Goochland, VA., 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late John J. Barnes, Jr. and Joseph E. Barnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10am in St., Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Ave., Rumford to which relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are omitted.
