George Thomas Giraud, 96, of Providence and South County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17th. The son of the late Leo and Irene Giraud, he is survived by his wife of 73 years, Anne Freeman Giraud, sons Roger, of Providence; Hayward (Anne), of Seattle; and Stephen (Kate), of Custer, SD; his daughter Deborah (Bruce), of Trindad, CA; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hayward, Jr., Seth, Nicole, Rabbit and Suzannah. George spent his childhood in France and graduated Blair Academy and Brown University, Class of ’42. He served in World War II as a Lieutenant (jg) in the US Navy in the Pacific aboard the USS Fremont and as Staff Secretary on Guam. As an Investment Advisor in Providence his career spanned four decades until retirement as a Senior Vice President with Paine Webber.
