Frederick S. Perry, 55, of Somerset, MA passed away at home on Saturday November 12, 2022 after a nine-month battle with Appendiceal Cancer.
Fred was a graduate of Voorhees High School, Glen Gardener, NJ, and he earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from URI. He was an ISA certified Arborist, RI Certified Arborist, RI Certified Horticulturist, and held several other professional licenses.
Fred was the Director of Horticulture at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens, and Arboretum in Bristol, RI for the last 21 years. Prior to that he enjoyed employment with Tranquil Lake Nursery, Sylvan Nursery, and Orchard Acres Land Creations.
Some of his professional affiliations include, Member of International Society of Arboriculture, Past President and Member of New England Chapter ISA, Member of Horticultural Club of Boston, and Tower Hill Botanic Garden Horticulture Committee.
Fred leaves his cherished wife of 30 years, Kelly M. Perry, and 2 beloved children, Eric M. Perry, and Alison M. Perry all of Somerset, MA. He was the treasured son of Helen J. Perry and the late Warren B. Perry of Washington, NJ, and also leaves a brother James W. Perry of Weyers Cave, VA.
Fred’s illuminating smile, strength, tireless dedication, knowledge, masterful creativity, and landscape artistry will be dearly missed.
