Frances Louise Creasy “Zippy Lou” Zip, 94, of Middletown, a retired Portrait Color Artist, died Saturday, September 26, 2015.
Born Newport News, Virginia, May 18, 1921 “She often said she was born with a brush in her hand and paint in her veins”. Daughter of Leslie Vernon Creasy and Laura Louise King. She was married to Charles William Zip on May 19, 1940 and was married 60 years.
A graduate of University of NC and Maury High School, Norfolk, Class of 1940, She loved painting, gardening and genealogy. She was a member of ABWA, Chesapeake Bay Artist Assn., National Photographer's Guild, VA Genealogical Society, Eastern Star, First Church of God, Ocean View 60 Plus, VFW Post3160, USO during WWII.
She is survived by her daughter Charlene L. Zip Rich, and her husband John S. Rich, Portsmouth RI; grandchildren, Elizabeth L. Rich, C. Christopher Rich, Sumi Rich; cousin, Doris Mae Dawson and Marvin Williamson.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. She has donated her body to the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Providence, RI. Donations in her memory may be made to Sophia Academy, 582 Elmwood Ave., Providence RI 02907 or to the Aux. of VFW Post 3160, 111 A View, Norfolk, VA 23503.
