Obituary for Esther D. Keough
East Providence: Esther D. Keough, 91, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died peacefully Thursday at Epoch on Blackstone surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 67 years of William M. Keough, Jr.
Born in Brockton, MA a daughter of the late Hugh and Theresa (Pope) Doyle, she was a Rumford resident since 1962.
She was a graduate of Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA and a 1945 graduate of the University of New Hampshire where she met Bill.
Esther volunteered for Rhode Island Hospital, Meals on Wheels and was also a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.  She was a member of the Wannamoisett Country Club, the East Side Jr. Woman’s Club and a long time communicant of St Margaret’s Church.       
Esther was an avid reader and enjoyed skiing, tennis, bridge and the New York Times Crossword Puzzle. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her ever growing family.
Besides her husband Bill, she leaves three children: Ann K. Ullucci and her husband Michael of Tiverton, Patricia K. Almquist and her husband Glenn and William M. Keough III and his wife Rachael both of Rumford.  She also leaves her grandchildren: Meredith, Rachel, Jenny, Wyatt and Beckett and her great grandchildren: Grace, William, Alexander and Benjamin.  She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Beagan, Rose Nolan, David Doyle and Alberta Trostel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10am in St Margaret Church, Pawtucket Ave. Rumford. Burial will follow in Rumford Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4-7 PM in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main St, Pawtucket, R.I. 02860.
