Obituary for Ernest Nelson Heroux
Ernest Nelson Heroux (86) of Smithfield passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21st losing his battle with cancer. Ernest was the son of the late Nelson and Christina Heroux.
Ernest served his country in WWII with the USMC in the Pacific. He was also active during the Korean conflict. He spent 25 years in the Providence Police Department. After his retirement he lived in Mexico for many years.
 He is survived by his former wife, Alice (Barr) Heroux, son Ernest N. Heroux Jr, daughter Janice Dionne and their spouses, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is also the brother of Raymond  F. Heroux and the late Loretta (Heroux)  Levesque, (Sister Rita S.N.D.).
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ernest’s life, on Wednesday, September 26th at 6:00pm at the Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 North Street, North Providence, RI.
