Obituary for Elizabeth R. Stevens
Elizabeth R. Stevens was born in Providence, RI on November 8, 1925. She was the wife of the late Richard Stevens and a daughter of the late Anthony S. and Julia (Ferreira) Nunes. She leaves a daughter Deborah J. Stevens and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was active in community affairs; Seekonk helping Hands, Advocate for disabled persons, Seekonk Grange, 4H Community Monthly Club Leader. She was a member in the East Providence Business and Professional Woman’s Club and the Hamilton House in Providence. She volunteered her time at Tockwotton Home.
She worked at several Providence banks and brokerage houses as a book keeper, ending her career in California’s DA’s office/accountant department until her retirement.
She was a thoughtful, helpful, generous, trustworthy, ‘foot on the gas’ smiling woman. I was lucky to have her as my mom.
