Providence: Noto, Elizabeth Dorothy, 93, of Bethany Home, Providence died Saturday. She was the wife of the late Arthur Noto.
Born in New York, NY, she was a daughter of Bartholomew and Elizabeth (Hurley) McKenna and previously lived in Scarsdale, NY, Warren, RI, and at Laurelmead in Providence.
Dorothy grew up in Staten Island, NY. She worked as a medical secretary and during World War II served with the Red Cross in that capacity. Later, she became an executive secretary in Manhattan, where she met her husband.
She is survived by son Robert A. Noto and wife Regina of Bloomfield Hills, MI; son Richard B. Noto and wife Alison of Barrington, RI; and grandchildren David, Michael, and Regina A. Noto of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Katherine and Patricia Noto of Barrington, RI; and sister Anna DiSano of Staten Island, NY. She was predeceased by sisters Ursula Fox, Margaret Koehler, and Eleanor McKenna, and brothers Bartholomew, William, and Robert McKenna.
Visiting hours will be held at Monahan, Drabble & Sherman, 230 Waterman St., Providence, RI from 5:30 to 7 PM on Tuesday, June 28. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to non-profit Bethany Home of RI, 111 South Angell Street, Providence, RI 02906 or Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
