Obituary for Edward "Ted" Buffery
Edward “Ted” Buffery, 82, of Coventry, RI, passed peacefully on Friday March 4, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Constance P. Buffery for 63 years.
Born in Warwick, RI, he was the son of the late Henry Buffery and Edith (White) Buffery. He was the father of Laurie L. Quatteocchi of Mays Landing, NY, John D. Buffery of west Warwick, RI and Linda L. Jackman of Johnston RI and the late Edward A. Buffery.
He is survived by his brothers: Douglas Buffery of Warwick, his sister: Rosemary Walker of Coventry, RI and his grandchildren, Stephen Gardiner, Crystal Buffery, John Buffery, Thomas Quattrocchi II and four great grandchildren.
Ted had been employed at Electric boat in Quonset for many years before retiring. He also worked as a bartender at Village Pub in Coventry, RI where he was loved by many patrons and friends for his kindness, sense of humor and compassion for other people. He was a friend to all. Ted was an avid fan of horse racing and football. He also took meticulous pride in his yard and was extremely proud of the flowers he planted yearly.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Special Olympics in honor of his grandson Thomas Quattrocchi, II who is autistic and has been an active partner in the program for years as a swimmer. Donations can be made at support.specialolympics.org
