Constance C. Grant, 94, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024 in Medfield, MA. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph C. Grant. They lived most of their lives and raised their three children in Pawtucket, RI.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI, the daughter of the late Armand and Yvonne (Laverdiere) Laramee. She worked at Sears, Roebuck, and Co. on North Main St. Providence, for 25 years before retiring in 1992. She was a communicant of St. Raymond’s Church in Providence and a member of the St. Raymond’s Leisure Group, St. Raymond’s Mother’s Club, and the Sears, Roebuck Retirees’ Association. She spent her last several years at Thomas Upham House in Medfield, MA, where she was kindly and lovingly cared for.
Her hobbies and pleasures included traveling with her husband, jigsaw puzzles, needlework, cooking, and decorating, but the most important part of her life was spending time with and entertaining her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life, and she will be missed.
She leaves a daughter, Deborah A. Grant of North Kingstown, RI, two sons, Joseph D. Grant (Margaret Grant), of Warren, VT, and ChristopherJ. Grant (the late Carol Grant) of Medfield, MA, and four grandchildren, Jayna N. Grant of Portsmouth, RI, Christopher J. Grant of Providence, RI, Abigail D. Grant of Brookline, MA, and Daniel R. Grant of Medfield, MA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Irene T. (Laramee) and Joseph R. Cupido of Yuba City, CA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts to Thomas Upham House Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, 519 Main St., Medfield, MA 02052 or St. Raymond’s Church 1240 North Main St., Providence, RI 02906, in her memory, would be appreciated by her family.
