Obituary for Caroline I. Guertin
Caroline I. Guertin, 89, a respiratory therapist at the former Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket for over 25 years died peacefully Wednesday at her daughter’s home. She was the wife of the late Earl E. Guertin, Sr.
Pawtucket resident most of her life, she was a daughter of the late J. Charles and Marguerite (Smith) Gettler. She was a long-time member of the Holy Name Church in Providence and had served as a Eucharistic Minister there. She was an avid gardener and was a member of the African Violet Society. She also loved traveling and knitting.
She leaves her children: Elaine Reilly of West Warwick, Lori Beauregard of Warwick, Earl Guertin of West Greenwich, Christopher Guertin of South Kingstown, Mary Bruzzi of Warwick. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Michelle Reinert and sister of the late Evelyn Silva and Mary Horan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10am in the Lady Chapel of Holy Name Church, 99 Camp St., Providence. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10 from 2-5 pm at Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence. Donations in her memory may be made to Holy Name Church.
