Obituary for Barbara Gustavesen
Barbara M.Gustavesen, 93, of Warwick died Friday at the Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Gustavesen , Jr.
Born and raised on Angell St. in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Henry Moor and Jessie (Bradlee) Moor. She was a Warwick resident for 45 years previously living in Edgewood.
Barbara had worked as a social worker for public assistance children in the R.I. Department of Social Welfare and had volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
She was a 1940 graduate of Classical High School and a 1944 graduate of Wheaton College and was a member of the Edgewood Jr. Woman’s Club. She was a member of Sheldon St. Church and was a former member of the Edgewood Congregational Church, the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children: Henry M. Gustavesen of Hampton, Ct., Nancy Gustavesen Mekota of Pepperell, MA, Bradlee W. Gustavesen of Upton, MA and Charles W. Gustavesen III of Warwick, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday at 11am in the Historic Chapel of Swan point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd. Providence.
