Eva Marina Del Deo
6/18/1923 - 3/6/2010





DEL DEO, EVA MARINA (MOGATTI), 86, passed away on March 6, 2010, after a brief illness.


 


Born in Providence, she was a lifelong resident, most recently at St. Elizabeth's Court in Elmwood. Prior to her life as a wife and mother, she was the proprietor of Eve's Dress Shop, a clothing boutique located in the Kinsley Building in Downtown Providence. She loved the Rhode Island seashore and to travel, especially to visit her sons in New York and California. She was stylish, strong-willed and independent minded, and lived her life accordingly. She will be dearly missed.


 


She is survived by her son Robert Del Deo and his partner Andrew Murray of Providence, her son Frank Del Deo Jr., and his wife Dr. Amy DeMattia, and grandchildren, Lucy and Bennett Del Deo, all of New York City and her former husband, Frank Del Deo, Sr. of Providence. She was one of four sisters: Anna (Mogatti) Colannino of North Providence, Gloria (Mogatti) Sarcione of Cranston and the late Inez (Mogatti) Sherman. She leaves three nieces, Gloria (Fusco) Fournier, Gail (Sherman) Danilowicz and Jane (Sherman) Murray, six nephews: Joseph Fusco, James Wilkie, Bernard Fusco, Dr. David Colannino, Joseph Sherman III, and Guido Sarcione.


 


Funeral Friday, March 12th at 9:45 am from the Monahan, Drabble & Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, St. Joseph's Church, 92 Hope Street, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth's Court, 109 Melrose Street, Providence, RI 02907.

It is a great disappointment to no longer have Eva in this world. But while she was here, she blanketed us with beautiful memories and creations that she left behind for all of us to continue to enjoy.
