Howard Peter Turner, 64, a Latin teacher at Classical High School before his retirement  died Tuesday.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Dr. Howard K. and Charlotte (Sullivan) Turner.  He was the husband of Patricia (McCormack) Turner

Peter was a graduate of Providence Country Day School and earned a Bachelor’s and a  Masters Degree in Classics at Brown University.

He spent his summers in Uxbridge, MA, moving there when he retired.

He is survived by a sister, Nancy Badger of East Dennis, MA,  and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Church of St. Sebastian, Cole Ave. at 10am.  Calling hours on Friday are from 5-7 pm.
