John E. Bowers, 87, of Willow Ave. died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of the late Janet (Sanborn) Bowers.  He was a Sakonnet resident for 35 years.

Born in Iowa, he graduated from the University of Minnesota.

Mr. Bowers was a Sr. Master Sergeant in the US Air Force serving in three wars:  World War II, Korea and Vietnam.  He retired from the military in 1974.

A private funeral and burial will be held at the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
