Dear Mrs Wheeler,
On behalf of N864 and N867, I would like to begin by expressing my sincere condolences for the loss of your husband. It is never easy to loose a loved one. While I never knew your husband, I do know your son, and if Brad is even the slightest reflection of his father, then I know that your husband must have been a great man. I hope you can take some comfort in the knowledge that your son is an essential part of our team here in the Pentagon, and while I cannot speak with certainty, it seems reasonable to believe that Brad's decision to work for the Navy reflects the love and care for the Navy that was bestowed upon him by his father. The Navy has benefited greatly from the time your husband gave to the service, and that same service continues to benefit from the efforts your son continually displays. On behalf of all of us here in the Pentagon we sincerely hope you and your family take comfort in the knowledge that both your husband and son contributed, and continue to contribute, immensely to the betterment of the U.S. Navy.

Please accept the condolences of myself and my family on Mr. Wheeler's passing. Brad had shared with me some of the health challenges Mr. Wheeler had been experiencing in recent years, which were very much like those of my own father who passed several years ago, and I know how difficult it must have been.
