Janice Field (Hough), 88, wife of the late Richard M. Field, died Thursday at Miriam Hospital. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward B. and Ruth (Wilkinson) Hough. She lived in Barrington for most of her life.
She graduated from the Mary C. Wheeler School in 1939 and Skidmore College in 1943, where she majored in music. She was a member of the R I Country Club, Hope Club, English Speaking Union, Barrington Garden Club, RI Chapter, Society of Colonial Dames, Acoaxet Club, Pottery and Porcelain Club and St. John’s Church, where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by two sons, Richard M. Field, Jr. and wife Karen of Barrington, and Edward H. Field and wife Kathleen of Johns Creek, GA, and daughter Cynthia Wall and husband William of Barrington; grandchildren Joy F. White, Ryan M. Field, Christopher B. Field, Kimberly E. Hawks, William J. Wall, III, James R. Wall and Harrison H. Wall; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Church, County Road on Tuesday at 10:30 am.
Burial in Prince’s Hill Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 191 County Rd., Barrington, R.I. 02806.
